Wooden Mallet Farm was born of a dream two engineers had to escape city cubicle life and get back to the Earth. After quitting their jobs and WWOOFing in the US and Ireland with their young son, they found their way to 20 neglected acres in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Here they rebuilt infrastructure, grew a conservation area, restored soil and vegetation, raised hundreds of chickens, built a large greenhouse filled with abundant gardens for local markets, and established a large rotational grazing system for naturally-foraging pigs. It is the story of a small organic farm designed from the heart, with a commitment to sustainability, ethical animal care, restorative practices, conservation, and a way of life that nourishes the land as much as the people and community that rely on it.
